-----------------------MINUTES ---------------------------
Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting.

Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures:

- Eckhard would like to discuss an email he sent to the list.

AR Review:

- Mike send BIRD draft to list
  - Done

- Bob conduct tests of parser behavior
  - No tests yet
  - Bob reviewed the BIRD and it looks pretty good

New items:

Mike showed a list email from Eckhard:
- We agreed that there is an error in the IQ spec regarding open sink/source.
- It can be corrected by moving two words.

AR: Mike add a quail to correct open sink/source in IQ spec 5.6.2

Mike showed the Test Keyword Clarification BIRD draft:
- Bob: The analysis section needs an introduction.
- Mike: Tim Coyle is agreeable to these changes so far
- Mike: We might want to have the parser check for unused [Test Load]
- Bob: IBIS originally was about single ended but most models are differential
  now.
- Mike: Should we change "under the [Test Data] keyword"?

Mike showed the new external Test document:
- Mike: Does this need to be formatted as a BIRD yet?
- Bob: Probably not yet
- Mike: The [End ***] keywords are only top level
  - For example [Test Components] does not have one
- Bob: It would be awkward to have it for everything
- Mike: XML would be better in that case
- Bob: The stimulus might go under a test data

Anders: It is good to be able to put everything inline
  - Should [Test Subcircuits] have a name?
- Mike: The subckts within it have names
- Bob: Maybe [Test Subcircuit] should be limited to one subckt

- Bob: We could have SPICE with *[keyword] comments
  - We would have to write a long description of our new SPICE language
- Mike: If we want tests with multiple models we need flexibility
- Eckhard: This is like EBD, which tools already know how to handle
  - This is getting complicated
- Bob: We should have limited flexibility like probe points

- Mike: IC vendors will have a SPICE setup and will want to easily move
  that into IBIS golden waveforms
  - They will not wait for an EDA tool that generates the whole setup
- Bob: The silicon SPICE run can take a long time to generate
  - We will not be successful saying there is a new way of testing
  - Each tool has it's own scripting language
  - Will we create a scripting language?
- Mike: We should not define a new script language
  - EDA vendors would have to completely implement it to call themselves
    compliant

AR: Bob send Test Keyword Clarification BIRD additions to Mike

Next meetings:
- Next meetings July 5 and July 12

July 5 agenda:
- Test Keyword Clarification BIRD draft

Meeting ended at 12:18 Eastern Time.
